Ephesus & Pergamum

For lovers of classical history, there a few better places than Turkey!

All along the Aegean coast line from Cannakale(Troy) to Didim (near Bodrum), there are spectacular remains. Within a couple of hours drive from Yenifoca you can visit Pergamum and Ephesus, both major Roman cities and both well worth the visit.

Pergamum sits spectacularly above the town of Bergama, 1 hours drive North of Yenifoca, it was firstly a Greek then a Roman city and the remains spread out for miles.

Ephesus was the Roman capital of Asia Minor, and its remains are acknowledged as some of the best to be seen today.

It is a 2 to 3 hour drive South from the house but well worth it!!

After you have visited Ephesus, a few miles further South , and probably requiring an overnight stay (village of Sirence?), you can spend a day visiting these smaller but equally inspiring sites.
